Michelle takes the Extreme Hangout on a verbal and visually stimulating journey of the history of our carbon footprint: For over 4 billion years, earth has been a volatile place with volcano’s, no oxygen, no life, no water.
In the Holocene Epoch, we arrived at a special point in time where the last ice age has ended (although may not be the last one on earth) and we now have a stable climate. The CO2 level was at 280 ppm at the start of the Holocene, however today, we are at 420+ ppm, a place where our climate is no longer stable. Experts say we need to reach 350 ppm or below in order to achieve a stable climate again...Watch to learn more!
